About Chelsea

Chelsea Baker is the founder, creative director, and principal planner of Block Party Event Co.. She hails from Cincinnati, Ohio and has a degree in visual arts. Her path to event planning hasn’t been a linear one— it began with a high school job delivering wedding cakes for a local bakery, wove itself through backpacking and teaching in South America, winding into a dream job at an art museum creating exhibitions for children, and eventually landing in Canada serving as the right-hand woman for a high-end wedding planner in the capital city. After moving back to Cincinnati in 2018, entrepreneurship came calling and Block Party Event Co. was born.

Wedding planning has allowed Chelsea to flex her natural abilities as an artist, as a planner, and occasionally as a therapist. When she’s not busy throwing killer parties, she enjoys baking, watching trashy reality TV, camping, and spending time with her husband Dan and their daughters, Iris & Pearl.

Block Party Event Co. is a team of artists, planners, designers and doers on a mission to give every client a one-of-a-kind experience. We specialize in creating well-planned, beautifully designed events for a contemporary cliental. Our style is modern, thoughtful, a little funky and never boring or stuffy. We strive to make every client feel like a guest at their own event.

Block Party Event Co. believes passionately in promoting diversity and inclusion within the wedding industry and in our daily lives. We prioritize collaboration with small businesses owned by women, minority, and LGBTQ+ people. We support and actively seek out clients of all ethnicities, races, abilities, religions, gender identities and expressions, and sexual orientations. We routinely donate to organizations woking to fight discrimination and bigotry in our community. We believe that hate has no place in wedding or events.
